Masking tape with Xacto knife....Painstaking. Did rotate the tires while I was doing it also. It took from 10 am to 3 pm in 94 degree heat.

I used krylon heat treated spray paint. You also need to prep before paint.

Remember Borla makes the TRD exhaust. Yes I do prefer the complete duels. Had them in my last 3 trucks with 2 of them cat backs. It's a low mellow sound and you know when you punch it. My wife isn't much on the hot rod stuff but she likes the sound also.

I'm getting too old to clean chrome but I kinda like these rims and they're not bad so I stick with them for now. I try to keep it simple.

I tried to find brush on paint close to that color or close to the truck's color but no dice. They had the spray paint so I went with it knowing I will spend more time masking then painting.. But for only $6.00 you can't beat it. Next will be to spray my sway bar the same color.

Actually, Borla made the TRD exhausts for the Gen1 Tundra, but the Gen2 TRD exhausts are made by Tenneco. My local dealer has several of the new TRD exhausts in stock and the boxes/mufflers are marked "TENNECO".

I suppose it's also possible Toyota uses multiple vendors for these products and just has them built to a certain spec.

So if you go to the dealer...whih I did...and they say they hav the trd for around 640 and the borla for around 860, which one should I go with? Sorry for stealing ome of your Thunda Mickey. Maybe I should start a new thread. By the way I really like the mod. I don't know what color I would put on mine since it is the desert sand mica. Green would be cool....maybe a little to much notre dame though

I did mine close to the color of the truck. I just wanted a different look. Just so happens it worked out great. Now if I finally get some nads and paint my headlights black I'll be fine. I paid under $500 for my duels. He did my other 3 trucks so he knows I'll send him business. Pro force has a great set also for $650. Do a search on it and you will see the pics.

Mileage still good. I'm still getting around 22 mpg if I stay out of it. I'm averaging 19.8mpg. I'm trying to get above 20mpg avg. I do my avg every month on the 1st. So I can keep a running total.
