Can my Chrome bumber be painted?
I want my chrome bumper painted like the Limited ones, So I took it to Earl Sceib Auto Body and they told me "you can't paint chrome, it won't stick". Is this true? They said I would have to dip it in powder coat and it would cost around $1000.00 I wanted to save money by painting it instead of buying a Limited bumper. Has anyone tried to paint one?

You can paint chrome, but you'll need to do a lot of prep. Sanding/blasting, primer, paint, etc. Or you can paint it with bedliner if you like that look.
Personally, I think you'd be better off buying a Limited bumper. |

You can also acid etch the chrome, then use an adhesion promoter, then primer and paint.

Cool pics. I had a question about debaging that maybe you can help me with. I removed the logo's but I can't get that adhesive off my truck. I've tried a few adhesive remover sprays but they didn't work. What did you use?

Hi, I used de-natured alcohol, from home depot, and some heat from a hair dryer, to soften it up & then just roll it off with your fingers or a towel.be careful with the alcohol it is very flammable . good luck with it ....
