throttle body spacer

Has anyone tried adding a throttle body spacer to a 4.7 liter V-8? I have an 2001 tundra 4x4 that is completely stock, and wondered what the performance gains would be. Also, where does it go?

First you take that big plastic piece off the top of the intake manifold. Then you need to disassemble the plastic intake from the air filter assembly. From there you will see where it goes. I had a 2000 4.7 V8 and truthfully it didn't do my truck any good. I got more power out of a KnN intake system.

Start with your intake and exhaust! Sorry about all the negative comments regarding the TBS but they say it works for some vehicles and it doesn't work for others. It just doesn't do a thing for the first gen Tundra.

Since you have a 1st gen, i would leave the engine alone. Intakes and Exhausts for the early tundras are known for making you lose all your low end torque. Plus, 90% of intakes just suck in hot air from the engine bay.

Even then, gains might not be all that much. I did a stock air box mod that sucked in air from the grill of the truck, but it still did not yield any noticeable gains, and mileage actually dropped. I have had the stock air box mod, K&N FIPK intake, and just stock, and stock is by far the best for me.
