OEM Brushed Stainless Step Board Install (PICS)

I bought the step boards in the aftermarket and did the install. It's fairly straight forward and the only tools needed are:

Torque wrench-3/8" drive
Socket- 10 mm (M8 bolt), 12 mm
Extension- 3", 6"
Ratchet- 3/8" drive

First remove these bolts that are where you will bolt the brackets. You will find 8 on each side although the two front bolts on my truck were missing the upper bolts so I only had 7 each side. My truck must have been built on a Friday.

The package comes with 2 front brackets, 2 mid-front brackets, and 4 rear brackets.

The brackets are all labeled which makes things very easy.

Supplied in the kit are 32 M8 x 25 mm Sems Head Bolts.

Install the brackets in their proper position and only finger tighten.

Once they are in place they will be ready to accept the boards.

Place the board onto the brackets and finger tighten with the supplied bolts.

Once everything is in place and aligned front to back, tighten the bracket bolts to the frame using a torque wrench. The instructions said 25 Ft Lbs but later on said to tighten to 14 Lb FT. So, I think the 25 Lb Ft is an error. I went 14 Lb Ft and used some blue Loc Tight.

Once all the brackets are secure tighten the boards to the brackets using 14 Ft Lbs.

The finished product ready to stand on and support a lot of weight. I must say it does make getting into and out the truck much easier.

Should only take about 45 minutes or less per side if you take your time and double check everything. The first side always takes a bit longer than the other as you're doing it for the first time.

They look good I was debating between these and the x-sp style steps and I decided I like the polished look better plus the x-sp ones don't hange below the frame so when I go offroad I won't bend them up.

Got same ones for my regular cab

easy install as you said. like the brushed SS effect as they won't show scratches from boots etc. Got mine at the dealer as my salesguy said he could provide me with a 15% off for accessories. after looking out there at some of the reports of poor quality and early rust, decided these fit the bill. Paid $390 with the Taxachusetts 5% tax. Happy with the ease of installation and great pics there btw
