Bed Extender Question????

I'm thinking of getting a bed extender for my crewmax but I haven't seen much discussion of them on this forum. Are they worth the cost? Where to buy and how much? What brand? Any thoughts pro or con would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

My buddy has one for his f150 and removeable so he pulled it off and its hanging in his garage. I guess if your hauling a lot of stuff all the time its great but it all depends on how much you need it. I think its a waste of money. I would much rather spend $1000 and get a shell.

Toyota Extender

I just ordered and installed one from Sparks.
Mainly use it when I have it flipped in to stop things from moving around the bed. I have a truck cover and when I take that off I just keep in in the bed and the extender keeps it from moving around the bed so all I need to do is open the tailgate and it will be right there in reach. (also have a soft bed cover)
When I put my 4 wheeler in the bed (which I haven't yet because of fear the tailgate will get damaged) I use it to hold my gas cans and equipment in.

If you wanna nice one don't mess around check this out. The bed extender actually turns into a functional ramp! Joe Hauler Motorcycle Carriers and Accessories

Doesn't look like that one swivels in and out, plus I need a ramp for a 4 wheeler, not just a 2 wheeled bike. Really wouldn't do me anygood.

Oh well just another bummer about having a quad. 2 ramps.

DEZ it's still a good idea. It has to fit one's needs.

I did have to make some adjustments to my bedcover and the extender to make it swivel without hitting the rails for the bedcover.

Did some slight grinding of the rails and flattened part of the extender tubes a bit.

I have one in my CM and it's pretty handy. It will even work with the shell on, which surprised most everyone. I like it because I can put stuff right near the tailgate and not have it wind up at the front of the bed every time I stop. I have pics of it posted here as well...
