Talking Wood Stake Bed consideration/comments

First let me explain I'm Scottish therefore my language might not be accurate in describing what I mean, since I did not grow up in the USA.

So here goes, I've been looking around Juneau (small town), there's a couple of trucks with Canopies (RainForest: good idea) and I've seen on or two bed lids (not sure what there called) but a few Ford/GM have the homemade Wood Stake/ fence deal going for their bed, and only this week I've seen an aluminum roof/canopy on top of that. Since bottom line this is a work truck for me, sorry guys. I just recently scrapped out 1/2 ton peat gravel will not be needed until next winter. So any one out there with comments?

BTW: Truck of the month photo; no theme?

I too am Scottish and now a naturalized US citizen. Born in Aberdeen, parents are also born and raised in Aberdeen.

I think you are asking about camper shells. The wood stake you mention sounds like a flat bed truck with sidings to prevent the load from falling off.

BUT, your post is not clear at all, language aside, what the F**k are you asking?

Its a great idea if you want to haul stuff like firewood in the bed. With the higher "Stake Side" bed you can haul more in the bed of the truck. Just make sure you create a tailgate for the stake part of the bed or it kind of defeats the purpose.

I created a stake bed for my Utility Trailer, I'll try and get some pics tomorrow and put up on this post.

The problem with stake beds is its uncovered so anything you put back there will get wet, or stolen. Other than that its a great way to add extra high sides on the bed of a truck to allow for maximum hauling capabilities.

I however have a camper shell on my Tundra, that locks so that I can put things in the back that will stay dry and secure.

Hey, it's your truck...do what you want with it. Assuming you're in Alsaka,,you don't have to worry much about what it looks like...
