Rubber bed mat over Line-X?
Is anyone using a rubber bed mat over there Line-X or other spray in bed cover? If so how is it working out, where did you get it, and what did you pay?
Thank you |

I am using a 4' x 6' rubber mat 1/2" thick i got from our local farm supply store. It was around 45 bucks and has a smooth side and a bumpy side. Although it dosent go around the fender wells, it's cheap an serves its purpose.
A custom bed mat is about a hundred bucks plus shipping to Hawaii which would be killer. Keeps all my stuff fom sliding around my bed. (no liner)

I have the Toyota bedmat. It works just like it is supposed to. I had Rhino lining in my last truck that had a steel bed and decided to wait until this bed is completely messed up before I put a spray in liner in it. Saving money for more important things.

A friend of mine got his Line-X sprayed on, then it started to scratch up his surfboards pretty bad...he went down to a surplus store that had a roll of 2 foot wide rubbery material like a thick mouse pad is made from he got 32 feet of it used 3 strips 8 feet long sewn together and cut with an exact-o knife to accommodate wheel wells. Its soft to protect the boards, takes it out for the big sharp stuff...Cost only $25. Surplus stores are wonderful places!

I have the Toyota rubber bed mat. It works good for me and I got it at my dealer for $120. I just can't see spending $400 on a spray in bed liner that basically doesn't do anything different than my rubber bed mat. The rubber bed mat also protects the bottom of the bed from dents better than a spray in. If I buy another Tundra I can take this one with me also saving some cash. You might hear that the rubber mat holds water under it but that isn't true. Mine has rubber bumps all over the bottom to let air in so any water can evaporate.

about a year or so ago in my garage as a floor matt and now that Toyota finally came out with the full size bed it fits perfect in my truck ! I have had them in the past and they are great for every reason. once you get one you will never go with out it, just the same for my garage I had to go get a new floor mat too ! |

Rubber bed mat over Line-X?
HI,
Had my bed done with Line-X and Line-Xtra. I still had my Toyota rubber mat from the original purchase, so I just laid it down over the Line-X spray job to keep my tool box and such from sliding around. Plus, it adds more protection to the bed area. FredSG

Hi Deznutjob,
Naw, you're reading too much into what I posted above. I have this Toyota Rubber mat, so what to do with it? Just placed it down over my Line-X job, which already does a nice job of protecting my bed, by itself. But, when I want to haul my rifles to the shooting range or anything else that's "delicate", and which I don't want scratched in any way, well, having the rubber mat there makes me feel more comfortable. Initially, with just the Line-X, and no mat, nothing ever moved. I guess I'll have to watch what I post for fear it may be interpreted in the wrong way. FredSG

Spray in seems to be great for protection against rust and corrosion and I will be doing it soon too. I will also put my rubber mat back in on top of it! The mat is sweet no matter what is under it. All the differant opinions and views are what make things fun and interesting and the American way ! If all were the same life would be too predictable and boring and then we wouldn't have the opprotunity to laugh at people doing stupid things we don't agree with ! Do what ever it is you like and "F" the rest if they dont like it !
