The Sparks Toyota rep says the guy who does their website updates isn't knowledgeable in all things automotive. Guess he thought all oil filters looked the same so he posted a pic of a spin-on instead of the actual TRD filter element that slips into the oil filter housing on the truck.

No need for the mad faces. Sparks is an awesome vendor. Be glad Mark actually took his time and checked it out for you and posted a picture for us.

The mad face is for the fact there's no spin-on filter, not for Sparks. They have great prices, great customer service and I buy stuff from them all the time.

They made a mistake and I'm glad to see they spent the time to straighten it out on this forum... Not too many vendors would do that. All part of the great customer service I was talking about.

Actually, Sparks was very nice when I pointed out their error. I wanted to purchase some but wanted to know for sure if these were "true spin on oil filters". They then double checked out the picture. Thanks Again for sparks correcting the error so customers will not be up set.

Exclamation Spin On Oil filter

This presented a base/platform to screw the spin-on filter to. Anyone know about such "an adapter" for our 5.7 engines??
I ordered the 10 pack of oil filters from sparks and what I thought was a spin on filter and I have emailed Sparks Toyota techs, there is no spin on oil filter from TRD for the Tundra. If anyone doubts this, well I have a direct quote email I can share from Sparks. The TRD filter is a high performance cartridge type and not a spin on. I pretty much wasted my money ordering it and I received the cartridge filter.

UH yeah--that's what this whole thread has been saying, it's a cartridge filter not a spin on.
