Cold Air Intakes

Aloha! Does anyone have experiences (good or bad) with the 5.7L engine? I was looking at the K&N system and I was just thinking about just changing the stock filter to a K&N filter and not change the housing.

I have the AFE CAI. All in all, its all about how much you want to pay and how you want it to look under the hood. They will all give very similar results.

Mahaloz to all

Howzit Everybody!

Thanks for the feedback, I went and bought just the K&N Filter for now, installed it and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! But, like I said before, I got the TRD exhaust system installed by the dealr before I took delivery and it is nice, Only now it's nicer with the new filter. It's smoother on acceleration and it's more powerful when you got to punch it out.

GET THE TRD EXHAUST SYSTEM, it's made for the Tundra by BORLA!

Again thanks for the reply to my topics! ALOHA FROM HAWAII!

I have the Volant in my new '08 Tundra and it is sweet. I am going to look into the TRD Exhaust.

Bozu,

When you state a TRD exhaust, is it a true dual and where does it exit out. how much was the cost, or did the dealer include it in the purchase.

Thumbs up Aloha Guapo

Thanks for the inquiry, the TRD Dual Exhaust exits out left and right of the back of the truck. This costed me about $1200 and I had my dealer prep center install it before I took delivery.

Yes, it was expensive but it is worth every penny and the warranty covers the exhaust system too since it was installed by our authorized Toyota dealer.

Aloha

Voiding Warranty

Hey I just purchased K&N air charger high flow intake. Will Toyota void my warranty if I install it myself?

Thumbs up

I don't believe it will void the warranty, read the installation instructions but I really do not think it will.

Good luck!

OK ya'll, I, unfortunatley bought the 4.7 and am now currently regretting it everyday! So to make up for it, I am going to make this the baddest 4.7 on the street over here in Eastern Washington. I just received and installed the first of many after market products on my truck. It's the K&N Cold air intake. It took only about 1.5 hours to install. I think my next purchase will be an exhaust. Should I get the dual or should I spare some cost on a single sided exhaust? Is there a huge benefit from two to one? If so, how many Ponies would I be losing if I did choose the single?

we have had them side to side at the dealer, there really is no difference, one looks different, but no performance difference that we could feel

Thanks for the info! What about getting a "Cat Back" or a full system? Is there a huge difference between the two?

I put in an AFE cold air breather along with Borla XRS complete dual exhaust system. Breather alone increase 2 mpg. Stainless steel all the way.
