Alternative to fog/driving lights in the factory position?
Has any one come up with a good alternative to the factory fog lights? I do not have fog lights on my 07. I would like to use the stock location and switch but don't want to pay the premium price for the factory setup. Don't get me wrong I'm not afraid of spending the money but I think there must be a better light for the $. I'm guessing the switch goes in the dash in one of the blanked out locations. If it's prewired I'm thinking factory switch, after market relay and lights. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Actually the fog light switch is on the headlight stalk. It is a small rotating switch about an inch up from the end of the unit.
As for your idea, any new fog lights should come with the proper wiring and mounting hardware. If you hooked them up and then sistered the wire through the (what I assume is there) pre-existing firewall hole you should be able to run it right up to any location you want; including any number of the blank spots on the dash. However, I would think that wiring it in to make it look stock on the (pun) stalk, wouldn't be the most cost effective. It would require replacing the unit rather than just simply drilling a small hole. |

I too was looking for a better solution than the stock fog lights I have. A local custom shop here said they can put a pair of PIAA driving lights in that mount in the exsisting hole.. havn't followed up on this, it was round $350...
