Wow. I've never seen that one before. That would fit my black theme nicely. :yesnod:
My locking pin looks like Fido's backside. Functional, but way ugly. I really like the looks of this black unit.
That sucks! I would have liked a black one too. Mine is chrome and it's rusting. I just replaced it 5 months ago. The last one I had, the lock and pin seized together, I had to cut it off with a sawzall.
I guess it's just another thing to plastidip.
yea, there are only about 5 hitch locks that fit...
3 are cheapass,2 are stainless, one of those is kinda cheezy, the other is the stainless one from master that i have... and i have also posted links before,
its the one that has a pink end on it, although the pink only lasts several months tops then it fades to just stainless.
I have a few different things that I alternate.
First (and probably my favorite) is a hitch step that I made out of some 3/16 floorplate. It serves as a handy step up and also a piece of armor to protect from those inattentive fools in parking lots! The pics are on my work truck so dont hate!
No pics but the longer 3 ft. version of the Go Rhino step without the light bar. Had a chrome one. It saved my ass not too long ago. Got tapped in the rear in stop and go traffic. The a-hole was taking off as I got out to check the damage. Looked like he dinged his own bumper and bent the hitch step bar. No other damage to the truck. It did a good job. The step bar crumpled and bent without the car making contact with my hitch or bumper. I junked it and replaced it with a black powedercoated one. Used to have the ball mount hitch. It's a good option but I felt it didn't provide enough protection for the whole bumper.
When I ran nothing I got rear ended severely 5-6 times in a year. Now that I always have something back there it doesn't really happen all that much. I think people take more notice when the ball mount or step mount is jutting out back there and staring them in the face.
does it touch the exhaust tips? almost looks like it
