Aftermarket Cruise Control.

Is there a good aftermarket Cruise Control kit out there? My truck was a barebones "worktruck" with no cruise and barely anything else. Not having cruise is starting to kill me now. I talked to the dealership parts guy and he said they didn't offer anything through Toyota for me and I would have to go aftermarket.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with some of the aftermarker cruise control kits? I'd probably have it installed as I'm a little hesitant about rewiring anything myself.

Thanks!

Blueheed

On the 07 base truck you can add cruise with the factory switch and running a wire from the cable reel to the ecu, later models are pre wired. I cant remember the pin locations but i can look it up later. I am sure someone has it on PDF some where

The guy at the dealer told me they didn't have anything factory they could order for me. Am I misunderstanding something or was he wrong?

He was wrong. I have a bare bones work truck with cruise control, intermittent wipe, and mpg display.
Where are you located?

Located in South Central Louisiana. I think I may need to give the dealership a call today, get this sorted out.

If I were you, I'd buy the parts from one of the vendors here on TT and do the work at home.
What year is your truck? Newer trucks are plug-n-play.

Alright, so now I've ordered a cruise control switch from TRDSparks. It came in and all it had was the switch, no wires, screws, instructions or anything. Should there be more that I need to put this on? Or is the switch the only thing I need?

Thanks!

Because you have an 07 single cab you will need to run a wire from the cable reel to the wire hareness in the passenger footwell. Give me a few moments and i will get pin locations and wire color for you

You should go buy the screws and cover for the steering wheel. It would also help to have access to some connector pin repair kits. At the cable reel pin location #1 needs a wire run to the engine room main wire harness. At connector # AJ5 in the passenger kick panel the lavender wire is in pin position #10. It will be on the side that runs to the firewall and not on the side that feeds the rest of the truck. It sounds more complicated than it is.

Pin #2 at the cable reel needs to go to ground, simple.

If you had an 08 or newer you would just need the switch, no wiring needed.

I attached images of the connectors you are looking for, they will be the exact shape and number of pin locations listed. There are several connectors in the passenger kick panel, make sure you find the right one.
