oh no. Definitely not doing it myself, definitely going to the pros if I'm getting it done. What color is your truck and what color are you trying to wrap it in?

I saw a guy here in Texas that wrapped his white truck in a matte red. It looked awesome, except when the tailgate was down, or the doors were open, then you could see the white. I want to say he paid $1800. His reasoning was once the wrap looked like crap he could peal it off and re-wrap it or leave it off and he had a brand new paint job.

14TC #35, White Tundra Club #910,000.1, TXTC #133, Tundra with a cap #132, Tundra Camper's Club #9, VLEDS blue footwell LED's, and interior lights upgraded to blue LED's, Aluminum Filter Cap, G-Tek doorsill protectors, NFab light bar, 2 20" LED bars, Amber Rigid D2's in place of OEM fogs. Next project in line = dip the chrome

Yes. They would protect your original paint very well. My truck is gray, and Im looking to wrap mine in a matte black.

blue ribbon metallic. and i dont know. pretty sure im doing matte black on the roof, maybe the hood too after i get the RK sport hood. but im thinking a desert camo pattern for the rest. im also not doing the door jambs. i used to dip cars a lot, and it never bothered me then, shouldnt bother me now.

If he paid $1,800, I can not imagine that it was done properly.. Anyone with good experience and skills would charge $3,500 +/- for a full truck wrap.

Here was my 2015 in matte gray metallic..

do vinyl wraps come off easily? will they potentially damage the clearcoat during uninstallation? protection maybe, but once wrapped are you kinda stuck with a wrap?

That matte grey looks awesome man!

I really want to do my truck in a matte pearl white. I was quoted 3200 on my crewmax and that wasn't even doing the roof or door handles to save some money.

It doesnt seem that hard to remove a vinyl wrap..check this out

I honestly couldn't stop laughing at this guy in the video.

no its only a temp thing. and I haven't read of anyone saying it damaged their paint in any way. their whole selling point is that its protection for paint.

They wrap Bugattis, Lambos and Ferraris every day. I doubt they would do that if it damaged the paint.

yeah i saw my first really eye catching wrap on an aston martin being used as marketing for a company. it wasn't until i got close and could see the edged that i knew it was a wrap, but man it looked good. i wonder how they hold up in the texas heat? i imagine you can coat/wax them just like paint?

I do this for al living. It will NOT damage paint/clear coat, etc if the paint does not have aftermarket paint. If the vehicle has been in an accident and repainted, there is a RISK, and very possible for the paint to peel during the install or removal of the wrap. If its been painted properly, and double baked, you have better chances it won't peel, bust still very risky. At my shop, I typically do not touch anything that comes in with aftermarket paint. If removed properly, and the wrap product is 3M 1080 Avery Oral, or a known brand like mentioned, it will not leave any residue if properly removed.
