I've only seen a few people attempt this and I've always wanted to do it to my own truck. By a stroke of luck looking around on ebay I found seller in Thailand offering a full harness w/ the switch for about $100. It was a gamble I thought I'd try and thankfully it paid off. Here's some pictures of the install and a video.
Items needed:
Level motor headlights (I used retrofitted lights I made)
plug and play harness/switch:
Genuine Toyota Hilux Vigo Fortuner Headlight Leveling Switch with Wire Socket | eBay
This is the one i used. It should be noted that the switch does not fit into the factory slot, it is thinner and taller.
Genuine Toyota Hilux Fortuner 2016 Headlight Leveling Switch with Wire Socket | eBay
this one looks like it includes a switch the same size as the factory tundra switch. I have not tested it so I can not confirm.
laid out and plugged up
first part of the harness. Ground the white/black wire and plug the level motor plugs into each motor. The other connector connects to the second half of the harness
second part of the harness w/ height switch. Ground the white/black wire and connect the green wire to +12v ignition switched source.
the switch with it's respective plug on the harness
I installed the switch in the knee panel in one of the dummy slots
the green wire I ran to an ignition switched source I found with a multimeter. I think it was used for my alarm/remote start. Again, the white/black wire was grounded.
at the front of the truck, I ran the harness for the headlights over the metal support bar behind the bumper and routed it as neatly as I could to each headlight.
ground the white/black wire. I moved the ground to the inside of the fender where other factory grounds are later and recommend that location instead.
next route the harness between the battery and fuse box
from inside the truck I ran the second half of the harness that plugs into the switch through the firewall wire harness grommet and plugged it into the other half. You can shorten the harness here or just zip tie the excess in a bundle and hide it somewhere.
Hope this helps anyone looking to do the mod. Sorry for the video quality.
