Window film

I am considering ceramic film on the windshield and front door windows. I live in the south so it's about to get hot as a firecracker and I have a black interior. $200 installed. Anybody with the same to testify to its worth?

I have LLumar CTX rear/sides and LLumar Air Clear on the front and I think it's worth. If you don't do the front its pretty much pointless.

Agree and don't forget the sun roof it you have one. This all made a big difference in my truck (silver with black interior) and in Texas!

I had the front doors done in ceramic, but the windshield strip done in regular. I did not have the whole windshield done.

Should have had the sunroof done, but didn't think about it till the first sunny day.

My truck came with no tint. I got 20% all around, including a top strip on the wind shield. The rest of the windshield has clear film. It makes a decent difference with heat here in Florida.

I have 20% ceramic tint all the way around except for the front window. It made a huge difference especially when I go out to the desert. I'm contemplating getting the lightest one I can in the front window. My tint guy has it in his vehicle and it made everything seem like it was in hi DEF or polarized.

Had it done. The windshield has an ever so slight tint and I put the front windows to darkest legal shade. I considered going with front matching rear windows, but I had done that on my f150 and, though it looked good, it was a guessing game when turning at night. This still looks pretty darn good and night driving is no problem. I "think" I can tell a difference, but it's not gotten stinking hot yet, so....we will see.

Be careful going too dark on the drivers door window and front passengers side. I had to roll the windows down at night when at a stop sign.

I have all windows done except windshield.

How does the tint guys deal with the dot matrix around the rear view mirror area?
I was told it wouldn't sit well and there would always be bubbles

Yes, I'd like to know this too!

It would be nice to have a strip of tint along the top of my windshield.

I have the strip over the dot thing. I'll see if I can get a pic. It doesn't look bad.

I was even wondering if that area could be left untouched and maybe just install film on either side of it.

Then again, it would most likely look odd.

This Texas sun is INTENSE!! LOL

My guys trimmed around the dotted areas, both at rear view and the edges. They said it would not adhere there. They did a very good job of it because you cannot see the edge. I guess it pays to find some experienced installers.
On the side windows - I think mine are 35%? It came from the dock with that much - slightly less dark than the rear. They had to take that off to reapply the ceramic with same tint. The windshield they said was 75% transmission which is legal in my state.

It's blinding sunny today, so some of the pics are drowned out. It's the best the camera could do. I agree with people who say be careful to not go to dark on the front side windows. I'm at 20% all around, and every now and then, I roll down the front to get a better view. Not all the time, just depends on lighting (or lack of).

This was taken from the driver seat. They cut around the alarm antennae and mirror mount.

The funny spot in the middle is where the rear view mirror is mounted. Nothing could be done other than cut around it.

A better view of the whole front. There is also a clear UV coating where there is no tint strip. There is a small seam where the tint ends and clear film begins.

Another view from inside. You can better see the seam where the tint ends and clear film begins.
