Where are the Steering Wheel Buttons?

I spent much time this weekend on Toyota lots checking out the Tundra and noticed no button controls on the steering wheel except for the Limited. Is this the same on all Tundras? Will be hard to give up the controls at my fingertips. Is the cruise control easy to use where it is located? Im not sold on these interiors just yet!

The steering wheel controls come with the JBL/Bluetooth system, which is available as an option on all three grade levels (Tundra, SR5, Limited). At least, that's the case in this region (GST). We have them on both of our SR5's.

The cruise controls are basically the same as every other vehicle I've owned in the past 25yrs. My last Silverado was very similar. Easy to use, IMO.

I think Toyota is cutting a corner here. I have the buttons and no fancy stereo package.

I would not jump to conclusions... On my GMC, I had to get the Bose's system to get them.

I have a Silverado (AKA Clunker) and I have them with not special stereo setup. I think I can do without though. But Im a little dissapointed, all grades should have them without stepping up to a fancy radio.

Uhmm... yeah... I thought it was worth the extra dollars though... I really like the bluetooth option with the JBL. Down side is the JBL only stores 20 phone numbers. I think this JBL is comparable if not better then my GMC Bose's.

Not comparing stereos, comparing options. I DON'T have the bose system but still have the steering wheel buttons. Not an option on the Tundra though without paying extra for the fancy stereo I guess. Might make up for it if my future Tundra is not in the shop on a consistent basis though!

I understood that we were not comparing stereos. I also understand that Toyota will only offer that option with the JBL option. Why? hell I really do not know. But I was just trying to point out, if you did go with the JBL option that the stereo was worth the upgrade price for me. I like some of the options that come with the JBL system to take that extra price for that option.

So what is your Tundra in the shop for?

About how much is the upgrade? I looked at several Tundras on the local lots and it seems the limited's have it but none others.

I love the JBL system, The cd player compared to my pioneer in the ford isn't that great, but when hooked up via AUX with my zune, those speakers rock so much harder than that of my mom's bose system in her 'hoe

Yes... I have been very impressed with the JBL system. I do not have one complaint so far.

Very hard to find the JBL system on an SR5 model. Not seen one yet and looked at about 100 trucks.
