Double or Crew?
What is everyones opinion on the size in the backseat of the double cab? I know the crew is huge but I have yet to sit in the back of a double. Can anyone tell me if the double is maybe the same/bigger/smaller than say a chevy or dodge crew cab? Any info will help....thanks....

My buddy owns a dodge ram crew cab and he has sat in the back. He says it has more room than his. Personally I have never ridden in the back of my doublecab since I never let anyone else drive my truck.

I have a crewmax and the room is unheard of...even more than the dodge mega cab. I have sat in the double cab which i must say was very confortable compared to a GM. Never sat in the back of a Ford or Dodge for fear of the long walk home ; ) kidding aside..the double cab would be perfect for kids and on short trips average-sized adults.
Crewmax you can slide the seat forward...recline to 45 degrees...kick out your legs....and relax! My dad works for the 2nd largest dealership here in Cali and said a 6.5 ft bed is comin out on Crewmax mid year 08. i coudnt wait! Even my die hard F250 & 350 friends say "thats a big truck."

I am 6 ft. and my father (5' 9") has sat behind me while driving and has not had a problem at all. He says it is very comfortable while I have the seat all the way back. My father and I went to the Philadelphia car show and sat in the back of a dodge ram and it was crammed. Way smaller than the double cab.

my buddy has a double cab and i have a crewmax .. his is ok, not squished or anything in the back .. but nothing like having all the room of a crewmax
also the crewmax has rear ac/heater vents which is nice, while the dcab makes use of the space with MORE cup holders

I looked at both , and got the cm for more convience as I don't haul much in the bed anyway . The rear seats are like a limo and the vents are great too !

I have a DC and I have done a couple of long trips with adults sitting in the bk seat with no complaints. I am not a small guy and I fit comfortably in the bk seat. Also consider if you would need the regular bed or if the small crew max bed will fit you.

The rear seats in a DC cab are pretty comfortable. Have had adults (5'10") back there for a 1000 mile road trip to Mexico. No complaints. We needed the bed for hauling, so that was the determining factor for us

Also the DC can seat more people (6) if equipped with the bench seat...not available in CM.
CM comes with sliding down rear window which in not an option on DC. Depends on your needs but like I said CM 6.5 ft bed will be out later this year....now that would be a long truck!

im 99% sure that there is a bench seat option for the CrewMax as well as the dcab ... correct me if im wrong
i tend to not do much hauling .. only thing i put back there is my street bike, but i can leave the tailgate down when i do that .. and i like the look of smaller beds (although the 6.5 in the dcab doesnt look bad either)

CM was for me. I preferred more cab space than bed space. CM is huge. But another big reason I went with the CM was the sliding rear window. It's a power slide that goes down. Reminds me of the old station wagon my parents stuffed me in the back of as a kid. Open the sun room put down all four windows plus the rear, its damn near a convertible! I also like to hunt and all of my buddies are pretty good size 6' 200 plus. I can comfortably put five of us in their and travel for a considerable length of time. Rear seat slides and reclines. It's literally a limo.

If I ever get kicked out of my house by the wife, I know where I'm sleepin'. The back seat baby.

Thanks for all the opinions. Guess I wil drive both and see which I like the best. To me different style trucks look better in different colors. So I will spend plenty of time shopping around for the right 'fit'. I've had a Ram and now a Silverado; both with four doors. Very, very smart of Toyota to put complete four doors on the double cab. Right now, the CrewMax is very impressive but the DoubleCab seems easier on the budget.
