I went with the DC because it was more affordable for me, and I think the space is plenty even for adults. Although losing the bed space wouldn't be much of a sacrifice for me anyway.

I like the crewmax better than the double cab if you are tall like me and son you need crewmax the double cab is small to me. My son is 15 6'3 and still have more growing to do so we have to have leg room and the head room in the double cab doesnt seem like a lot to me. Go with crewmax just get a bed extender.

The head room is exactly the same in both the DC and the CM. The CM just has a longer cab and shorter bed. I agree with the bed extender though.

The roof isn't any shorter in the DC. Actually every single spec is identical exept for rear legroom. Here's the specs directly from Toyota.com, DC on the left, CM on the right.

Interior dimensions (in.):
Head room (front) 40.2 40.2
Head room (rear) 38.7 38.7
Hip room (front) 63.0 63.0
Hip room (rear) 62.6 62.6
Leg room (front) 42.5 42.5
Leg room (rear) 34.7 44.5
Shoulder room (front) 66.6 66.6
Shoulder room (rear) 65.7 65.4
Maximum seating capacity 5 5

I personally like the looks of the CM a little better but had to go with the DC due to the bed size. When you're pulling a travel trailer the tailgate has to be closed or you'll hit it when you turn.

maybe its the last 10 inches of the CM where the head room is less? j/k

Crew Max is more sportier looking and you guys are right the back door it does look bigger because it is! If they didnt make it that big it would have had the same look as the lame Dodge mega cab with the door jam and a foot of sheet metal behind it. When my dad (works for toyota) told me the 6.5 bed was comin out later this year...all reasons for DC were then removed....but i like the look of the shorter bed so I'll keep mine!

Glad we have options tho!

DC is 6.5' (standard) or 8' (long). CM is 5.5'...which is why I have a DC. If the 6.5' bed had been available on the CM a few weeks ago, I'd have bought one.

My dad has a Crewmax, and I have a double cab parked side by side every morning, and the bed on his just looks so short, but when i turn my head around in my DC it looks like 1/4 the size of the back of my dad's crewmax.

was in the back of my friend d-cab for about a 30 minute ride (6'1 190lbs) .. man it sucked .. honestly felt like i was sitting straight up, and my legs couldnt move forward and inch .. would have been very miserable if there were 3 people back there

on the other hand, i've had 4 girls in the back of my CrewMax (dont get me wrong, they were like 5'5 100lbs/each) .. but still

Sorry people the crewmax has it. Where you can adjust the back seat 11 inches and also recline it. Fit's quite well in the garage. And if I need the extra foot use the tail gate with straps.

Hey Mic, you mean the same tailgate that people are claiming to crack or bounce off? Ya I'll trust my two $6k offroad motos on that!

The rear seat also folds up in the dc providing me my under seat storage very handy. The cremax room is nice but the look of the truck and the ultra short bed just didn't work for me. That being said a crewmax with a 6.5 foot bed would look a lot better and suit my purposes. My truck doesn't see the garage that's for the benz and my talon so garage fitment wouldn't be an issue.
