Low Fuel Indicator??

Where is this at? I am testing my Tundra out to see what amount I have left after it comes on. But I have not seen it yet and the mileage is showing 29 miles.

Mine pops on with 20 miles to empty.

directly above the fuel guage.

I can usually drive 50 miles once the Range says 0. so 70 miles past when the light comes on.

When it comes on there will be about 5 gallons left in the tank. DO NOT run it empty. It can damage the fuel pump.

seems to be about 5-6 gallons left in the tank when the light comes on. i pretty much always get fuel just as the light comes on and it usually takes 19 gallons or so to fill up.

Only one light that I know of and it's part of the fuel gauge. I've been below .5 gallons before and never saw a second light.

I don't plan on it. Where I will be driving for the next few days there are gas stations about 5 miles away. At least that is if there is another indicator that comes on. I cannot tell if the gas tank indicator that is to the right side under the gauge is lite up or not.

The tanks is 26.4 gallons and the gauge only reads 20 as far as I know. once the guage hits E from what I can tell a gas pump emblem should start flashing. once you hit the .5area there should be a (low fuel level) warning light and gas pump flashing and an audible buzzer going off just prior to the engine dying. After that your walking home.

Around 25 miles (on the mileage left indicator) my fuel light came on. It is above the gauge on the left side. I drove about another 5 miles and filled the tank as full as I could get. It would only 19.9 gallons. It never did flash any. So this means I had 6+ gallons left.

That would be the reserve fuel 6.4 gallons, the flashing should occur at 26 gallons used supposedly. I'm not willing to try it though.

As stated above is the common issue. Having 112k miles I haven't run the tank dry but as mention above don't screw up your fuel pump just for the sake of finding out how far you can go. My light comes on at 22miles left. I avg 20-21mpg so I'm set well with the reserve the truck gives you. Some complain about it but I don't see where this is an issue. The truck was designed for towing period. That's why the big reserve so you can get to the next gas station with gas to spare.

Thats a great point, somebody towing 10k up something like Vantage Hill which is 9 -10 miles long, steep and windy or Snowqualmie Pass that large reserve can be gone in 15 - 20 miles depending on HP needed to climb it.

agree with all the rest of posts. Light comes on at almost everytime with 20 gallons gone. At least another 6 or a smidge more like 6.4 gallons left in the tank. Good to know. I have let it go 24.5 gallons before, but never 25.5-26 gallons to have the fuel pump light come on and the engine dinging at me stating I should start walking home. Good to know I have 6 gallons left unlike all my past chevy silverados being 3-4 gallons left before the light comes on indicating low fuel. I once had to call someone to bring me gas on the chevy silverado which really sucked especially since it was a 1.5 gallon can and I put in a good gallon and it still wouldn't start. I was only 1 mile from nearest station though at the time so I guess I could've walked it over there and bought a gas can and filled it up.
