Question Stake pockets

How do the covers for the bed stake pockets come off? Are the snapped in the bed rails, so they can be put back in, or do I have to cut them out. I only ask cause I'm not driving my Tundra today, so I cannot go out and look. Thanks

You can pry them out with a flat head and pop them back in later

Just took a look. As all Tundras do, I have the plastic cover that runs the length of my bed. I tried popping off the covers where the stake pockets are with no luck. So I popped off the plastic rail cover..... It looks like I'd have to cut mine out for permanent removal. Does anyone else have suggestions? Thanks

The crewmaxes apparently have non-modular covers so you will have to cut them out permanently. It's almost like they expected 99% of users to never use them or something.

Cut it while the whole rail is popped off so you don't scratch the paint, that's about the best tip I can think of.

That's what I assumed after looking. When I cut them you I'll save the pieces, and fabricate some kind of a backing plate that will slide under the rail cap. So It will at least look uniform.
