I almost bought a new f150 when I bought the tundra. The only thing it lacked was an engine. The 5.4 was pretty weak, but the rest of the truck was very nice. All of the ford bashers have not looked at one in a while. I was very impressed and I would not have considered a ford in the past. The 6.2 looks like a pretty nice engine option instead of the weak 5.4. I would like to see a dyno on a regular f150 with the 6.2.

Yes, Offthetrail; I also looked at the 150 King ranch with the 5.4 and agree in total regarding the difference between the Tundra 5.7 and the Ford 5.4. The Ford 5.4 reminds me of my 04 Tundra with the 4.7; a little better gas mileage but no where near the truck my 07 Tundra with the 5.7. Don't kn ow for sure, but suspect the Tundra will haul a couple of thousand pounds in the bed a lot easier than the Ford. Other than that, the Ford is trimmed out inside very very nicely and their electronics package is also excellent. It might come down to the old "form vs function" argument. I'm still in the weeds on this one, primarily because it is difficult to get these guys to deal on the Tundra. A loaded King Ranch is 10 K under MSRP.

I would definitely do it myself (actually I did) because it is better than factory would ever do. My buddy got the raptor and added a SC to it. We are taking both truck out to Jawbone to see who is faster and better. My suspension was changed to Camburg LT in order to take the beating that Jawbone can dish out and my SC has been tuned, so it should be fun. I don't think the Ford is going to be as fast or hit the big whoops like the Tundra with the new Camburg LT Kit and SC but I guess we will see. If he beats me I will then spank him with the modified Rhino, at least the tight ones with big whoops..lol

Just about every production vehicle has around a 15% loss at the wheels.

How does buying one 10 grand under sticker help? when its always that way it just sets the market to where the truck was simply overpriced to start with. oh, and then as soon as you buy it 10grand off MSRP the Ford INSTANTLY depreciates another 10 grand!! great bargain...........

Doesn't really look like it goes that fast. More noise than anything. Standard ford problem, makes tons of noise but not power.

I drive a 2010 Ford F-150 XL 4x2 pickup as a work truck, overall its not a bad truck however lacking the 4WD kind of makes it rough for what its used for. The truck we have has the 4.6L V8 in it, and since the truck is a base model 2WD its not a bad engine, but I'm sure if it were fully loaded 4WD and all it would really be sluggish.

You could be correct, that said, I can state the Tundra I leased in 07, sticker $29,800 the current book retail is $18,500. Don't know what a similar Ford would cost, but I suspect a 30K 07 Ford would fetch more than $8,500 today, so I'm not sure if you are on target with that one.

Forgive me for that was a broad blanketed statement. That would become the case when talking about lariat vs limited and wouldn't necessarily be that much of a spread all the time. I just don't like the fact that they have the employee purchase price programs because joe public who doesn't get that price suffers because of it that's all.

The tow rating is a weak 6000lbs. It shouldn't be built to tow too too much to have effective suspension for Baja use in fords defense. Its a neat idea but the 5.7 i-force will lay the 6.2 to WASTE. Our engine technology is years and years ahead of fords 6.2. Their new 5.0 coming out though is getting warmer though. Its a dohc with some form of variable valve timing. That SHOULD be a cool engine but we'll see.......
