Stay OFF???
The default is OFF and re-circulate will turn itself off after about 5 minutes. If you want it to stay ON then press and hold the button for 3 seconds.

Yes, it should default to off. No idea why it would default to on

Just for shits and giggles, start truck (or key on). Press and hold button for 3-15 sec. see of that breaks the cycle (When you want the rec to stay ON, this is what you do). Wondering if it might help reset yours ?

Just tried it. Doesn't do anything. It still defaults to the on position. I poked around in techstream last night to see if there was something that I could change on there, I didn't find anything that looked like it would change the default setting.

Maybe it knows that it's in Houston and recirc is the only way the AC has a chance.

My 2017 does the same thing. Defaults to recirc on start up. I too find it bothersome. Though only slightly. And also wonder if the Tundra is a "smart" Tundra these days and reads outside air temp and humidity on start up and kicks it to recirc if the readings meet the criteria.

I'm not completely useless. I can always be used as a bad example.

OK .... where do you have the controls set??? Mine will turn on the recirc if it is set to the max AC position, but not anywhere else.

Yes...this. I think it's an outside air temp set point that dictates if recirc is on or not upon startup.
