Chime in 4x4 low??? - TundraTalk.net

I finally decided to make sure the 4x4 worked so I put in in hi and it seemed fine but when I switched it to low it just keeps chimeing and the low light blinks. It doesn't really feel like it is in low either??? Is there some secret to get it into low???

Did you come to a stop, put it in Neutral, and then switch to 4L?

It's a little different from the manual transfer system I was used to on my Taco. Seems like you have to do things in the right sequence or it doesn't like it.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. I'm not used to the turn the knob transfer case. I'll give it a shot how you said and hopefully it will work.

Mine did the same thing the first time I tried it. jwg188 has it right.
