Question How will the 2018 announcement affect Used prices?

Hey guys I am looking to pickup a new generation Tundra. I like the look of the Cement Grey TRD Pro but I doubt the truck will get off road more than a few days a year. I am thinking about picking up a 2016+ and adding the lift and wrap it with the grey.

Should I just go for a new 2018 for probably msrp+ or will the 2018 refresh drive the used prices low enough to justify the expense of the lift+wrap?

FYI

I am in Los Angeles and I called a local shop and they quoted $3300 for the wrap but mentioned that some lower end places might do it for as little as $1500.

I don't see this very minor refresh having any impact on lowering used prices. Tundras seem to hold there value very well even when a new gen is introduced. Resale is still very good for the 2013's and older.

I would buy what you can reasonable afford and justify and not take out one of those new 8 year loans.
The PRO is nice but I couldn't justify the $70K OTD it would cost me up here.

You could also hold on and see if they offer Cement in other trims in 2018 (they offer Inferno and Quicksand in TRD Offroad up here for 2017) so you never know.
Then you could swap out parts like painted bumper caps and grille to suit your likes.
If they offered the color you wanted in a lower trim I think I would rather go that route than a wrap.....just my preference....

He's Canadian. Actually, that's a good deal. $70,000 of their fake dollars is only about $1.50 US.

What is the lowerst trim level you recommend I go if I am going to be doing the "TRD Pro" Clone route? This is going to be my comfy daily driver so I would like to have a few interior amenities but I don't need the Platinum package.

2017 CM TRD PRO Prices out at $71,484 online including taxes (15% here).
That's without negotiating, but considering availability I would expect 1-2K max.

That's up to you. Up here the PRO comes standard with black leather, etc.
I'm pretty sure items like that vary US. to Canada.

You obviously won't be able to clone the PRO tramp stamp if that would bother you.
Someone on here bought painted TRD wheels which is probably a lot cheaper than finding PRO take offs.

Why get a pro if your changing suspension ? Just get an sr5 and go from there. But no I don't see the refresh impacting resale or used prices either. 3 of the top 5 cars for resale this last year were Toyota. The Tacoma and 4 runner and in 5th the tundra. Tacoma had the. Best 3 year resale at like 70.5. But tundra for 5 or 6 year whatever they were rating was still 60 something.
