Driveline "bump from behind feeling" - TundraTalk.net

I know this issue has been addressed pretty hard on this site, and I'm very thankful that people have talked about this problem and posted threads and TSB'S on the driveline. They have helped me reslove my "bump from behind" {for now}. Just wanted to give some more FYI, my 08 drive line was replaced with no avail. A thread was posted on removing the boot on the driveline, pulling the spline out of the rear shaft, cleaning and re-greasing the spline with some GM grease and then magic happened, my "bump" is gone! Thanks to all whom took the time to write in and relay all your info on the this issue!

its real small i stopp at a light than it feels like someones hits you it happened in my last truck too...idk if its the way i drive it or what

where are the threads on this issue...is this covered under warranty or did you do it yourself...i have an oil chnage coming up and ill have them check t out

my bump was pretty hard, no clunk or thump but lots of, it seems, movement in the driveline

try seaching for "driveline" look hard and i bet you can find them. i had the service tech's do it for me. wish i could tell you where to go look

I have the same problem on my 05 but i dont have spline style, its all u joints, i pulled the driveline and tried to find somewhere to grease it, even had the driveline removed, replaced one u-joint, and the center support bearing with a better one, seemed ok for about a thousand miles and then it came back after towing my travel trailer. i gave up and just deal with it, dealer told me its normal axle wrap. do i believe them? no
