New Tundra - Paint Issues?

So we bought our new 17 Tundra CM a week ago, at night, and I didn't notice it until this past weekend, but on the bottom of both sides of the truck the paint is really orange peel like. It's even and runs along the bottom of the doors on both sides. It doesn't feel hard like the paint and it feels almost as if I could dig my fingernail into it slightly. The only thing I see on my window sticker is clear paint protection - doors. Not sure if that's what this is. I already have an appt tomorrow to get my steering wheel centered as it was off center from the factory. I'm going to have them check this out but I want to see if this is normal before I go in.

If you are describing what I think you are, it's there on purpose to help protect the paint from rocks and crap that get kicked up by the tires.

Ah well that's good to know it's supposed to be like that. I'm surprised it's really orange peel compared to the rest of the paint. You'd think they could make it smooth like 3M clear bra or something like that.

That's how its supposed to be. Its designed to resist chipping from rocks, etc. that get kicked up when driving.

Yep, it's been answered.

But what tires do you have? Tread looks nice in the pic.

Nitto Terra Grappler G2. They came on the 20" Rockstar wheels as part of the XP package. Now if I could just find out the model of wheel I have so I can get the width and be able to shop around for larger tires that would be great

Remove a wheel and look for markings on the backside.

I thought the same thing when I first paid close attention to the lower area on my Tundra, so you're not alone.

Same thing on mine.

I thought you were going to talk about spots were paint correction has already been attempted. Mine has 3 on the drivers side where it was sanded an buffed. You can't see them in most lights, but when the sun hits is broadside, they stick out like a sore thumb.
