It took a month....

It took the Toyota Certified Collision Center in Weatherford, TX, one month to repair my truck.... After doing a once over before accepting it I noticed, several things wrong: a cooler line was just hanging over the driver side tire, Scratches down the entire length of the truck, the wrong grille insert was put in ( silver and not black), paint chips on the hood, several missing fastners and a fender that was not completely secured and other various scratches. The truck is going back on Monday. Would it be unreasonable for me to expect better work than this.... as I was told by a service rep.... " No one is perfect".

Ask the service rep if this was your truck would you accept that no one's perfect excuse? Tell him/her stright up this is shoddy workmanship and it's a direct representation of your dealer now call out your manager so he can see how no one's perfect at his dealership. Lay into him and they will fix it and probably give something extra back to you. Take pics of all the things wrong with it. This is documentation against them. Let the manager know you have pics and if it isn't fix right this time we will be on the news tonite.

I am just glad I am not the only one that expects better work. Can you imagine what they get away with when someone doesnt know better. I will keep you guys updated on this..... Since they had the truck for so long, they did "give"me the spray in bed liner for less than half price.....

The Showdown is tomorrow. I have a list of things for them to do.

About the wrong grille insert, the silver one that the put in... They tried to convince me that that is what I wanted because I only had the "lower end black one and the silver one was from a higher end truck." I said BS....

I just cant wrap my brain around a silver grille on my Salsa Red truck. What do you think....

Have them imagine for a moment going to a doctor and having him say "Well, noone is perfect." Such BS. I have actually told people, supposed customer service people, that their decisions are just like the ones I make everyday. I walk up to an accident scene and choose who gets worked on first, or decide just how bad off they might be. Or if it is worth attending to the most injured or writing them off. Then I ask them what kind of vehicle they drive so I can put it on my list. The expressions on their faces are priceless.

Fight the good foght. Make them fix it right. Just remember there is no such thing as an empty threat, as long as they think your serious.

Talked to the shop today, and I have a black grille coming in. I told him about the other things that I have found since I got it home and really got to look at the truck and from the tone of his voice I can tell I am going to have issues. He said that he would take a look at it to be sure it was something they did.

BTW. I was looking at my engine (3200 miles when I took it to them) and it came back filthy!!!! I am certain that when they got it, it was immaculate. I think I am going to add that to my SH*T list....
What did your engines look like at 3000 miles?

I wish I could run but I am buried to the axles now.... As you can see, I put the shop's name to spare anyone else in the area the same headache. I figured I would go with the big name TOYOTA dealer in the area and get great work. I guess I was wrong!!!!
