That's the truth. The driver was named Homer Sectual.

Hmmm, they took a turn in a lifted Tundra and heard a loud bang and now the truck doesn't drive. I bet they have been driving around in 4WD and broke something in the front end. That's not a cheap fix.

Warranty job or will the lift void it?

I probably sound stupid for asking this but having come from previous vehicles with permanent AWD I'm unsure as to how running it in 4H on the hwy would cause the driveshaft or similar to snap...

It wont cause any problems on icy or wet roads, but it puts a lot of strain on the 4wd on dry pavement. There needs to be a little give in the ground. There is no need for 4wd on dry pavement. I find that there is only a few times i even need to put in 4wd

The lift didn't cause the problem. It was the driver's fault. I doubt warranty will cover it if he tells them what really happened. It would be up to the service manager and Toyota if they cover it or not. Since the manual says not to do it, Toyota doesn't have to cover any of it.

AWD can transfer power between the wheels when you turn. 4WD moves the front wheels at the same speed all the time. When you turn, one wheel is trying to turn faster then the car is moving and the other is trying to turn slower. So either the road has to give or your front end has to give. On snow and ice and mud and dirt and sand, it's OK since those give easily. When you are on dry asphalt or concrete, guess which one loses over time.

Thank you for the thorough explanation... And very good information for me to learn before I take delivery.
