Should I buy a 2007 DC long bed?

Hey everyone, first post here.

I've been drooling over Tundras ever since I heard they were building a beefy new version for 2007. I wanted to wait until I could afford to buy one in full, and I think that time has come.

I found a used 2007 SR5 DC with a long bed for under 20K (only 6000 miles on it). As far as I can tell, they're not putting the long bed on DC or CM anymore. I was wondering if anyone who owns an 8' bed can give me any advice as to how these beasts handle/park. Would you buy one again? I could always buy an '08 for around 22K with a standard bed.

Also, I was reading how a lot of people have had problems with paint/tailgate/mechanical issues etc. and was wondering if a Tundra is a good purchase period.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

All vehicles have thier issues. I have had mine since May 07 and have not had any sign of trouble so far. This truck makes me feel like I'm 18 again driving my hotrod 57 belair, of course this Tundra handles a whole lot better. Go test drive the truck, that should answer your questions.

If you need the 8ft bed then go for it. Had mine since july 07 and have 33,000 miles on it. Had 3 minor problems to be fixed. At 15,000 replaced pass auto mirror since it wouldn't auto close all the time. At 25,000 replace center console cover since it wouldn't close. At 31,000 miles replaced two lugs that snapped off. One lug had my Toyota lock set. They replaced lugs and lock set at no cost. Can't complain here.

Thanks for the info. Do you all know if the warranty would transfer to me since it only has 6000 miles? I'm thinking I should inherit about 2 years/30,000 mi warranty.

I'm probably going to get in touch with the dealer tomorrow to test drive it... hopefully they didn't take the weekend off for the 4th.

Someone else bought it this morning. @#($&#@)$*!!!

Oh well... I'm going to wait and watch the rebates go up again before I pull the trigger. The dealer around the corner from me has 30+ Tundras collecting dust.

Don't feel bad, I've seen it happen a thousand times....especially with a boat. People don't pull the trigger fast enough...and someone else gets it.

I got a long bed, 07, 5.7L SR5, it takes sometime to get used to the extra length atleast for me, i jumped from a subcompact to a big ol truck. Parking it depends on where you park, when I visit my mother they offset their truck back to save me a spot, we have to park outside there. Sonar is a bit of help, but if you can get a tailgate camera that would be the best bet, cuz you're able to push a lil closer to the car parked behind you, vice a beep that tells you you're close enough, and you can probably pinch out a foot more. Just my 2 cents. I had a paint problem only on the right rear fender which was repainted, and problem solved. No mech problems which is the best part.
