Thumbs up The search is over

I think I have finally found my Tundra. For almost two months now I have looked and looked for a Tundra Grade Crew Max with all the options I wanted. I just couldn't find one with 4x4, 5.7, tow pkg, tow mirrors, fog lights and Desert Sand in color.

One by one I would take an option off my list and continue to look. First the fog lights, then the tow mirrors. Next I even considered one without the tow pkg too. I was even willing to get just about any color. But still couldn't find one. I was almost ready to get one with the 4.7 and none of the options I wanted and then for some reason I looked at an SR5 4x4 TRD.

It has everything I want (and some I don't)and even has alloy rims that I would have added myself later. The only thing I don't like is the center console. (The reason I wanted a Grade in the first place.) I just think a truck should have colum shift and a bench front seat......

Well I told the dealer I would have to drive it all day and see if I could get used to the front center console. Guess what, I did. I am going to check the other local dealers and look for one like this now and most likely will buy next week.

Good news is the rebate went up another $1000 bucks while I was searching.....

I didn't like the console shift either so I kept looking till I found one with everything I wanted and the column shifter.

Wow, thats a first I've heard that someone actually likes the outdated column shifter look and feel.

Reminds me of Grandpa's old truck

Honestly I don't care where the shifter is, I just want a bench seat so Mamma can sit next to me

Actually I like to be able to sleep in the back seat of the cab, and have my son sleep in the front bench seat when we go camping.

I guess I will have to pitch a tent from now on.

I'll just have to get used to it. 09's will be out soon and it will be harder and harder to find even the SR5 I want soon. And even though I would bet that the rebate will still be there, you never know.

I bet that most of yall didn't know that the bench seat has a fold down arm rest w/ storage PLUS the middle seat has a huge stoage compartment under it. It folds up to access the storage. I think it would actually hold more than the SR5 center console but don't honestly know for sure.

I realize that you have a LTD so I guess, leather, the gps/nav, fancy sound, maybe sunroof.....what else ran the price up over 25K? I hope it is 4x4...

Just wondering thats all. Nice looking by the way.

lol, Newb? Trust me, I'm very confident in saying that the only Newb here (car community wise) is you. This is my opinion, as you have yours on the ugly column shifter

When I drove your truck (yeah your truck), I and others thought it was bitchin, besides the bench and column shifter. But If you like it, thats what matters right?!

What ever satisfies the eprson should be all what matters. Even the cost shouldn't matter if you are satisified in what you wanted.
