Color Matched Front bumper

I just talked to the Toyota Body Shop about the color matched front bumper and he said that it was different from the chrome bumper. He said something to the effect that it was just a "cosmetic plastic cover" and not like the chrome bumper. Does anyone know what he is talking about.

I found a good deal on the bumper, it was $100

it was used, and red. My favorite part though is that there were no front license plate holes in the black part

but i had my buddy who owns a few car dealerships take care of it for me

to paint the entire front bumper including the bottom black piece and fog light brackets is like $50-$60

Cool thanks. I'll have to shop around for the paint job once I get the bumper. I know Macco charges like 250 per panel. The bumper is considered a panel according to them. Too much.

Yea too much for sure.

$250 is just average pricing and who pays that anymore.

I'd say $150 or less is a good price.

I thought Maaco paints your whole car for like $500.

Newbie here digging up the dead. I plan on buying a Tundra as soon as Ike clears the area. I'm looking at the SR5,but really like the color matched bumper. Is there any additional mounting hardware needed to mount a painted resin bumper after taking off the chrome bumper?

I started with a chrome bumper but changed to color match when I hit a deer. The resin bumper and the chrome one do not have the same hardware and are not direct replacements for each other. The differences are minimal and would prob. not cost much. It's actually $50 cheaper to buy the truck with the resin bumper. If they can't find one for you, just order the truck the way u want it. I did and it didn't cost me any more. Just wish I would have started with the resin bumper.
