Impressive Fuel Mileage

Just turned over 600 miles so not really " broken in " yet. Must say last check of MPG came in at 18.58 MPG !! 95 % highway driving at 65 -67 mph. About
5% paved hilly mountain terrain at avg. 45- 50 mph. Seriously im very impressed from the results with less than 1000 K on the odo !

I hate to say it but my 06 Chevy did get 24mpg at that speed easily with no mods. Catch was it had a 5.0.

My "combined" mileage on my last tank was 17.94mpg and i have just over 6000 miles with Zoomer cat-back and an AFE intake.

350 miles on 19.5 gallons

This Tundra gets almost the exact same mileage as my 5.3 Silvy's but the Tundra has alot more power...

I have been driving our new Tundra CM to work using the same fuel-saving techniques I use with the Prius, and am getting 21.5-22.5 mpg on city streets with a speed limit of 40-45 mph. I have driven this same route for years, so I know how the lights are timed; and I can drive the 17 miles one-way with only two or three red stoplights. This just proves how great the stock setup is on the 5.7 liter V8.

However, I drive almost exclusively with the cruise control and accelerate slowly (like an old-f@rt); so the other drivers probably think they are following a huge Prius. One big difference; I don't get beaten off of lights anymore, unless I choose to just let the other fools go.

Last tank I got 16.6 with less than 4,000 miles on the OD. I drive 12 miles to work and it is pretty hilly with half a dozen stop lights. Not complaining but looking forward to it getting better when my truck gets a few more miles on it.

I only have one tank of gas through my '08 and getting a touch over 15mpg. Mostly city type driving with very little freeway stuff.

I hope I can get what some of you are after my break-in, those are some impressive numbers.
