drive your tundra for 4c per mile

made mine run on cng!! (thats compressed natural gas) then wrote a manual about it and put it on ebay, hoping to pay for some of the conversion!!

64c per gallon, same mpg, emissions are cleaner than what you exhale, engines last 2-3 times longer, as the oil stays clean. months down the road, the oil is still amber. going to change my precious synthetic yearly. yes toto, i said once a year.

it runs great, never misses a beat. technocarb kit. sequential injection.

How much gas does that tank hold and what kind of range do you get?

theres the downside if you dont live near a cng station. its an 9 gal tank, multiplied by whatever mpg you get. mpg is the same on either fuel. so i get 162 miles, before it switches to regular gas-o-lean. spoiled here in utah, 30 cng pumps closeby. if there isnt one near you, it wouldnt be feasible, or you could buy a home filling compressor, and do it at home

Just a stupid question. If you lived in a house that had natural gas for heat. Could you upgrade your service at your home to compress the NG and then use this fuel to drive your vehicle??

Reason for asking is the home I was raised in had a natural gas main on the farm. Our home had natural gas as the means of heating.

What would it taske to accomplish this so that you could basically be your own feul supply at home??

ANy Idea ???

perfectly do-able. you dont need to upgrade your gas supply either. theres a company called fuelmaker that makes the compressors for home, it takes your 3psi line, and compresses it to 3600psi. compressors arent cheap, but there are tax credits available.

Good point. That would scare the crap out of me. What happens if you get rear-ended really bad? Does your dash stay like the way it looks in the pictures, or is that showing some kind of installation procedure. That would bother the crap out of me if it stayed like that.

It's not going to be much more dangerous than the gasoline tank under the truck. If you get rear ended, then gasoline pours out all under the truck waiting to ignite. CNG dissipates into the wind.

And the dash being apart is for installing that little box on the dash.

common misconception. tank is infinitely stronger than a pressed steel gasoline tank. flash point in a fire is 400% higher. do a little research. there is a vid on youtube showing the ridiculous tests. dynamite, armor piercing bullets, bonfires etc.
find me an incident where someones cng tank killed folk, then compare that with how many people burn up in car fires.

Actually, there were a bunch of police cars using CNG that caught on fire when they were rear ended. But that turned out to be from inferior tank designs used in the vehicles and where they were mounted. They have since been replaced.
