I'm sold. I have been making a HHO booster for my 90' 325i, but have ran out of spare time (moving). I wanted to eventually put one on the truck. But this seems easier and better, but more expensive (need more jing). There are a few stations near me here, and where I will be moving. What kind of ECU mods need to be done? I need to do some more research online, maybe check out your manual. Who is the guinea pig for the 5.7?

So how does it work? It uses its own 'injection' system, and when you want to switch back to regular gas, it uses the standard injectors?

The new 5.7L has a ton of wiring, plus drive by wire- I'd be curious to see how much harder it is than the older Tundras to do.

PS- I wonder if it would pass smog in CA- or if you could get a CNG carpool lane exemption

you drill and tap your intake to fit new injectors. the existing system is untouched so you can pick fuel type. it has to pass emissions. it will be all zeros. if you tune it improperly, and its running rich, you would show hy hydrocarbons and thats it.

The 4.7 is a electronic throttle as well.

If you are too low you fail smog. I guess they think you are cheating, so you would just want to run petrol for smog, with nice hot cats

luckily this wont be a complication, as the cng injectors get their signal from the gasoline injectors, if they open for longer, so do the cng ones. there isnt a link or any connection to the throttle position sensor at all.

running on gas would be a great option for emissions, but having said that, we hooked mine up, and it ran great numbers. i think it would go through as is. (that is...i think!!)
