Key Fob Crash

So i went to Nags Head last weekend on vacation with my 08' TRD. Oh yeah, i took my wife, daughter and daughter's friend too.
I was out Tuesday night and everyone piled out of the truck, started walking away, hit the key fob and nothing happened. Wouldn't lock or unlock. Went out the following morning and bought another battery, installed it and still nothing. Broke out the old multimeter and the battery checked good. Has anyone else had this problem? The dealer told me that they needed to connect their computer up and sync both remotes. Now I'll be without my truck Monday. Any suggestions?

By the way, if you get a chance to drive on a beach, do it. It is so much fun and the Tundra is awsome!!!!

Haven't had an issue with the key fob.. I was in Key West last year along with Daytona, and Melbourne.

I've tryed mine several times since it stopped working. I've owned several Chevys and you just had to hold the lock/ unlock buttons down for 30 seconds to reset the fob. That didn't work either.

No, I have two remotes. The other remote, back in Richmond at the time, does work. The concern i have is, why did the one i was using loss it's connection and is it a common problem. I have never had an issue with a key fob with any other truck or car i have owned, outside of the battery dying. Hopefully, when i get the Viper remote start and replace the original key fob, i won't have this problem again.

I haven't had any problems with mine. Just put in the viper system, and be done with the worries. If I had more things in the cab that was worth stealing, I would get an alarm, but everything important comes out at night.

I am the same. I'm just getting the remote start.

Just got a call from the dealer; key fob is reprogrammed again. Hope it stays that way and i can find out why it happened. Big PITA for such a small thing.

Man, I'm glad you told me... I was planning my next vacation in Australia!!!

So I picked up my truck from the dealer yesterday afternoon. The customer service representative told me that the numerator had cascaded into the denominator and caused an influx in the protaginator.
OK, he said he or the tech didn't know. Just an electrical glitch is what the prognosis was.
I do think he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night though.

Works like a champ. The second fob never stopped working.

Side note: if this ever happens to you, carry both key fobs. Toyota has to have both to make sure that resetting the first doesn't affect the second's programming.
