Need better lighting!

I’ve been all over the net looking to replace the entire headlight assembly, but can not find any after market replacements. I have found the Xenon light bulb replacements, but I was hoping to give the truck a more aggressive look as well as enhancing my visibility.

Anyone have suggestions?

You could always buy a new set, and paint something in it. Looks like you could do some black headlight mod.

Also, I would go with a pair of Sylvania 9003ST Silverstars. You can pick them up at nearly any autoparts store. They are always the frist upgrade I do on my cars.

I really like the looks of the light upgrade they have for the new Tundra’s. I think Mickey has them on his truck (could be wrong)? They look tough though! It seems as if my body style is not very desirable for any cosmetic upgrades.

Also if I pull the assembly apart to paint i would worry that I’d get to much condensation in the light housing? Especially with the off-roading I do.

If I may ask why the Silverstar’s over the Xenon’s?

Silverstars for me have always been more than enough light. When I think of Xenon's I think of being pulled over. haha I just avoid all cop callers.

I finally got my lights in the mail and installed them. Thanks Cyprex for the input! You where right, they work great, and I did not have to pay out the a$$ for them! I’ll be finding a dark area to take some pictures and post up the before and after shots.

There was a guy on here trying to sell the HID kit for $125 shipped; that sounded like a killer deal, but I did not understand why no one was buying them, so I left it alone. Anyone know who I’m talking about? Was that thread just a bunch of BS

That guy was a vendor who was pretending to be just someone who got screwed with a few pairs.

He has sold quite a few, just doesnt post it when they are sold.

$125 is a good price.

I bought the silverstars once .. they looked good .. burned out way to quick though .. i would have gone with the HID's

No doubt. Fortunately I bought these off E-bay, and got a better deal than if I had purchased them locally, so if they burn out I’ll look more into the HID’s. I assume that is the same as Xeon’s?

The Xenon's you were looking at were probably HID's with the ballasts .. so im gunna say they are the same.

Thanks Ironman2... I like them also but trying to find a replacement bulb exactly has been a challenge. Waiting for one to come in to re-install them. I don't want to get pulled over so I have just HID's on the original now.

Hey Micky, I have to say your light set up is killer. It would be nice if they had something similar to what you have on your truck for mine. However not being able to purchase a headlight set from a manufacture gives me the freedom to do some one of a kind. After the installation of the Silverstar Ultras, I must say I’m please, though I live in the city and it was not easy to find a dark enough street to show them off, here is the before and after shots.

After I do some other upgrades to the truck that have more of an impact on it looks and performance, I’ll upgrade to the HID kit. I look at it as that could be an extra 125 to 350 dollars I could be putting down on a lift/ tires, or exhaust.

Just today I found silverstars H1/T2 55watt replacements for mine and yes they are on the Tundra again. I now have that mean look. It's great to take it to the dealer for an oil change. Techs and who knows else all look at my Halo's in amazement. Hell the sales manager took pics of it in the lot. So I take it I'm the only one in the area that has this.
