There is a way around it, but it means running more wires. Use the old wiring harness for one light. Then run new wiring for the other two lights. Use larger wires run from the battery to the lights. Then use a relay in between and connected to the old wires. When you switch on the old wiring relay, it will also turn on the other two lights with the new relay. There will be a 1/2 second delay or less for the new relay to switch on, but it's not a huge deal. It's actually probably better for the truck that way.

Dude, dude, dude! Fck all that! He needs to just start from scratch and do it right! Do the solenoid set up. Use #10 from the solenoid to the battery and from the solenoid to each light use the same size wires the lights came with. Do not splice any of the lights together! Use #14 from the solenoid coil to your dash switch, be sure and bring a ground wire to the switch if it has an LED. Install a fuse between the battery and the solenoid. Do it right! Get your hands on that solenoid and we can put it together over here if you want 4x!

A solenoid is a relay. Just buy a cheap 30 amp relay and do the same thing. The wiring he already ran can switch the new relay. Wire all three lights to the new relay.

Aaa ya, a solenoid is more like a contactor witch is much more heavy duty than a common "relay". With the kind of lights he's using I wouldn't go out and just buy a cheap 30 amp relay. I've heard many horror stories about harness meltdowns due to cheap components. Carefull 4x!

Look at every relay that comes with every after market remote start. Whether it cost $30 or $300, they all use the same cheap 30 amp relays. I've used them for 15 years and not had any problems. They either work, or they don't. When they stop working, they are cheap to replace. Every one of those cheap relays have a solenoid inside them. That is the click you hear when they turn on. It's a moving part that makes the circuit complete. You can buy expensive ones that are quieter when the solenoid clicks, but the cheap ones are just as good.

We'll just leave it at this, first of all the first 23 years of my life in the construction field were spent as an electrician and I've also worked with my share of electronics so no need to try explaining what a relay is and how it works, haha. All I'm trying to do here is let 4x4balls know how to put together a more durable offroad light switching system thats all. I'v seen too many systems fail from excessive use and over loading. No need for a battle of wits man.
