Touch up paint - TundraTalk.net

Anyone have an idea if the dealership sells those little bottles of paint for when a rock takes a chunk out of the finish? I got a few bruises in my new Radiant Red DC and would like to cover up the grey primer.

I'de say they better with all the paint problems their having! As a matter of fact they better come in quart size and they better be free!!!

I would be happy with the little bottle, for now. I've got six or seven spots that need to be filled in before they begin to rust.

Every dealer should have the little brush bottles in every color. Our paint is covered under warranty for 3 years, I'm just not exactly sure of the conditions.

The paint is covered? I'll look into that. I don't think that they would cover rock chips.

I talk with a friend who's a fleet sales manager at Longo Toyota in L.A quite often and he just told me the paint was covered.

Maybe you should start washing the sh

t out of it 10 times a week till it starts fading, then it will be covered for sure.

I got the touch-up paint from a Toyota dealership here in Utah, so I know it's available.

PAINT IS COVERED, BUT NOT FOR ROCK CHIPS.

They will laugh at you out of dealership and tell you you caused the chips on this paint which has the strength of an EGGSHELL.

I agree with the eggshell strength. The dealership did give me a 'complimentary' bottle of red paint.

In my book to keep track of Maintenence, there was a coupon for a free bottle of touch up paint. Thanks for the reminder, I need to go pick that up

wow thats kinda stupid i went to the dealer about a paint issue on my truck under the rear window theres a part where theres no paint and i talked to them about it and they said they had to order my blue streak mettalic paint because it was a uncommon color which is good but when i went to pick it up it cost me money close to 15 and i haven't even used the damn paint yet they said they'd take care of me but somehow there not trying to help me i hate my dealer

Yes they do so watch what they bring up. Using my VIN they come up with Radiant red. Wrong answer I told the parts guy. Then he realized he made a mistake on the number.

Tomorrow I will take pics of my door hinges and you will see under the Nautical Blue I have Blue streak paint.
