They can, if the diesel is stock. The difference is, for $400, you can use a Bully Dog or PPE programmer and gain 120+hp and 200+ ft/lbs of torque with a diesel.

I've seen 2008 Duramax extended cab 4x4's with just a PPE programmer running high 13's. That's almost a 1/2 second quicker than a Tundra DC 4x2.

A half second may not seem like a lot. But in general, for every tenth of a second, add a truck length in difference. So on a 1/4 mile run, that Duramax would outrun a Tundra by 5 truck lengths. That's a lot.

I'm not saying buying a diesel is the most economical decision, but from a performance perspective (which is what I care about), you can't beat the potential of an oil burner.

Like I said, I wouldn't trade my Tundra for ANY gas truck on the market. But I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a diesel for the dollar per horsepower gains

If I had more money I'd have probably got a totally decked out limited 4x4 just to say that I did, but I'm happy with my truck and think I will keep her for a good long while

Personally I wanted to get the Tundra Hybrid but it was cancelled. Now my thought is the Black Ironman Crewmax with the TRD CAI and Supercharger. Of course it would be a Limited.

Other than a little "wiggle" in the bed and a couple bubbles in my rock guard never a problem. Had it 7 months. Only truck I ever had I get excited to drive every time I get behind the wheel. NO TRADE HERE! P.S. Will you Ford's around Detroit quit trying to race my Blue Streak RCSB 2wd Tundra. I am using WAY to much gas proving a point over and over again At least most of the Hemi guys take off SLOW at the red lights when there next to me. Guess they have some info the Ford guys dont

I agree Siggman. I get excited everytime I start it up! I'll trade it in, but only for a newer model!

I was thinking of trading in my 07. I saw the 08 crewmax at the stop light. I guess i was steering it for too long when I heard m wifes voice saying stop it. You can't get another one. ahhh then she gave me a lecture on fuel prices and economy. She did say if i get rid of my corvette I could get a crewmax. umm something to think about

I would trade mine in a heartbeat......................................... ....

when someone builds a better truck to trade it in for! I don't see that happening anytime in the near future unless Toyota decides to make this one even better...which they probably will.
