First of all CMQueen good things come to those who wait. Patience is virtue. The thing is you are getting what you want. You're not settling for anything but what you want. You will be more happier to get this because it's all you want. I't not being a brat. You're paying hard earned money for a great truck and you want certain things with it. Personally I want mine to last so I got what I want not to plan on another truck at all.

Blowing all of his tax free money? Umm I have a degree and a full time job that pays pretty well thank you very much! He and I have saved for the down payment just like we would if he was here – that’s what you do in a marriage. That’s what we did for his car. As far as him knowing that this truck is being purchased... he has been part of the process every step of the way. I haven’t made one moved without talking to him first. In fact HE is the one that told me to have the numbers run while I wanted to wait. This has been the plan long before he left in order to save miles in his car. He and I even test drove one before he left so that he would know what WE were getting into. Trust me he's taken care of! I've had the suspension and wheels installed that he ordered for his car, he'll be getting a new bumper and upgrading the turbos. So do me a favor don’t compare me to those nasty wives that takes advantage of their husband being deployed because I am the polar opposite and it offends me that you are insinuating that I am.

I am sorry that you feel offended , but I believe he was kidding . He is a good guy on this forum and I've not known him to intentionally insult someone .
You sound like a very strong woman , and I'm glad you joined the forum . But from time to time there are alot of comments posted that are all in good fun , so please don't take offense .

I realize that he may not have known that he shouldn't have said that and I'm sure he's probably nice as pie. But sometimes there are just things you don't say and that is one of them... in my opinion. I'm a very sarcastic person so I can certainly take it. However, when it comes to me being a strong woman that can stand on my own I take pride in that. Especially being among a lot of women that screw over their husbands while their deployed. Sorry if I over reacted... but obliviously it's a button that was certainly pushed!

So to Nuke... sorry if I jumped down your throat a little but since you are retired military I'm sure you know exactly what I mean when I talk about those nasty wives and how much I do not want to be put in that category.

CMQueen you got it right. Appreciate it. My wife is very similar. She's a nurse and she bought my crewmax also. I still pay for it but it's under her name. The 07 Prius is under my name and she pays for it.

CMQueen my hats off to you. I went through exactly what you're talking about. Was married 20 years and she found someone else. Oh well she is miserable now to the guy she married which he is almost 30 years older than her so I guess that's why she's miserable. I'm doing so much better now than I ever dreamed of. I'm in a new house with over 4,000 square feet counting 3 car garage. My wife bought my 2006 18.5 Bayliner boat with a 3.0 mercruiser I/O and now she got my Tundra. I can't ask for more. Forgot to mention retired Navy 21 years.
