2004 tundra brake pads/shoes change

hi
noob here, and new to this forum, i did a lot of searching and didnt come up with a good result. im gonig to be changing my brake pads on my 2004 tundra double cab 4.7L. i have the parts and wanted copies of the pages in the repair manual that show how. i could probly do it myself with out the manual, but i wanted to make sure i do it right. ive never done the pads/shoes on my truck before, so im trying to be safe than sorry. any help ? can anyone PM me the pages?

qckmr2@yahoo.com

im used to changing the pads on my brembos on my race car. that takes 5 minuts 2 pins and the pads are out and in. but i know from having a 1993 MR2turbo that the factory toyotas' are not as easy.

thanks for any help

simple task really. i had an 04 dc for a while. you will see two pins that run through the outboard edge of the pads. remove the clip on the end of each pin. pull pad out of the caliper. note the position of the shim when you remove, as it can go two ways. you will have to compress the caliper piston if your old pads are excessivly worn. you can go buy a tool for that, or use a c-clamp as i do. reinstall new pads.
hope this helps. the 04 has the most straight forward system on the discs that i have ever seen. good luck

If you're gonna do the front I would just take the time to do the rear also. I had a 2000 4.7 SR5 and break jobs were a snap!

well i did my front brake pads tonight, took me about 45 minutes. no problem at all. i may have poked a hole in one of the piston boots, but a very small one. im not worried about it. very easy job, ill do the rear shoes this weekend.

bolt size

hi
ok so i pulled off my drums and the rear shoes are almost at %90 left, so i didnt need to replace them .. woo hoo..

But to get the drum off i needed to use a bolt to help pull the drum off, i ended up F ing up the bolt i had, but i wanted to know if anyone has the proper size/pitch of the bolt that needsto be used in the drum hole?
