Maybe a photo of your plate on the dash near the vin #. If (they) would have seen it they might not have bothered to take the plates.
Might sound stupid but I had a camera watching my M3 at night and once recorded some guy sticking his head up under the car cover. Two months later they broke into the car next to mine and with the recording the pair were busted as the cops could see where to dust for prints.

That's Bull Cr@p, take it to court. All you need to do is prove you had up to date tags and plates through your DMV records and that you were ripped off being towed and paying $500. The court should order your money returned if the tow company can't come up with who phoned in the complaint.

Call the Police and demand that a theft report is taken. They should assign it to a Det. for further Investigation. This is bullshit, theft, no matter how you slice it. We just busted a tow truck co. here in Columbus for crap like this. They were towing big rigs off shopping center lots, most people just pay the fine and don't report it, so they keep doin' it. I'd raise 6 kinds of hell!

Hey Guys I'm Back Still No Truck Though I Talked To A Friend Of Mine Who's A State Police Officer and He Said He Can Take Care Of It For Me I Can Have It Back Possibly Tmrw If He Can Talk To The Right People. Not Sure How He's Gunna Do It But I Trust Him Good Friend Of Mine Thank God For Connections. When I Get My Truck Back And Get New Plates Probably I'm Using Allen Screws Instead of Those Regular Crap Screws Thats Easy To Take Off I've Been Thinking All Nite How Someone Can Do This To Me And I Can't Figure Why. I would do a walk around with the owner of the tow company BEFORE you even go look at your truck to verify condition. Personally I would bring a small tape recorder to voice record EVERYTHING anyone says!! This sounds like something that the feds would be interested in. Good luck!! And if there is any damage that was not there before, document it, because you may have to get legal help. Look under the front and rear bumpers carefully and especially around the wheels. Again take your time. Hope all is well.

So Heres What Happened A Few Friends Of Mine Including The Girl With the CM Minivan Had Planned This For Months One Of Them Have A Friend Who's Dad Own The Tow Company I Guess I Had It Coming. They Day Before This Happened They Asked If I Was Gonna Be Busy At Work And I Said Yeh We Have Tons Of Cars Coming In It'll Be A Crazy Day. So Thats Why They Did It Yesterday. They Talked to one of the neighbors and told them the plan so the neighbor was in on it when she told me that someone towed my truck. So when i called the tow place they said it had no plates and all this junk crap 500 blah blah . The State Police Friend I Have Was Also In On It Thats Why i Got My Truck Back Today He Told Me What Happened And He Drove Me Down To Get My Truck Gosh Guys This Was Devastating To Me I Almost Cried But I'm Glad I Got It Back And She's Still Perfect, But For My Friends There Gunna Get There Asses Kicked!! And The CM Minivan Is Going On Cinder Blocks I'm Taking Her Wheels!!!! Thanks For Your Support Guys. I Changed The License Plate Screws Already Things Like This Can Actually Happen Be Careful.
