No, the engine has a clamshell to provide reverse thrust. The bigger GE F-404 engine also gets a pop-up air brake and a pair of drag-chutes.

Who needs brakes just change the direction and become a VSTOL. A new meaning to "Learning To Fly".

Hey that's a great idea. Install some ductwork, bleed off some of the thrust, vector it downward and we'll be able to bypass traffic jams completely!

The "F-08 Tundra V/STOL" Has a nice ring to it.
