You can get a king cab Titan w/ an 8 ft bed, and a crew cab w/ 7' 3" bed. Why cant Toyota do this?

I love Toyota, as I own an FJ, so Im not bashing them. But some people would like a crew cab AND a real truck bed. On top of the utility of the extra length, I just think any brand truck w/ a 5 ft -anything bed looks silly. Its like-wheres the rest of the truck? Its almost Honda Element territory right there. The DCs do look fairly big and roomy, and Im sure w/ a bed extender you have 8 ft of space there, but it wouldve been nice to have a long bed as an option. Im not sure what Ford or Chevy does, as I would never drive either of their trucks, but I know the 09 Dodges have the small beds too. (no need for the Dodge jokes-Ive had Chrysler products most of my life, which is why I bought a Titan) I think the 09 Dodge interior is my favorite, and I love the redesign, but no long bed. Ok, rant over!
I have a Crewmax and I have a real bed on mine also. I make use of what I got instead of whining would've could've should've. Now for Titan why are they under Chrysler? That's why Toyota didn't do that. I'm lost in the fact you state you love dodge and chrysler which is why you bought a titan. Sorry in 06 Chrysler didn't own Titan. As far as the Honda thing. Stating a Crewmax is almost an element throws your whole story out. Try again.

I think I'd have rather gotten a Ford or Dodge over a CM... they're ugly imo O.o

CM

- DC was too bouncey in the rear for wife and daughters
- Like the extra room in the cab
- Think it looks better
- Auto rear sliding window as standard [one of my favorite features]
- I can always add a bed extender for hauling my dirt bike and my snowboard still fits so all is good.
- If I have to haul something large I just haul with tailgate down, secure it and add red flag.

Heheheh.... but I am not sure about the Ford or Dodge thing.... CM or DC is still better then both of those in my book. Plus if you look at new truck sales, Toyota now has the lead sales over Ford, Dodge and Chevy. Toyota is now looking to be the largest truck dealer in the US.

hehe, true that. If I had a need for a CM, I'd have forked over the extra cash, but for now it's just the wife, my toys and I. I may need to get the bed extender as it's a pain in the arse getting my Polaris strapped down from behind, I hate crawling under the dang thing (and I hate pulling off the tonneau cover). I may just get a small trailer and keep all my muddy gear in the bed instead of bagging it and putting it on the floor in the back seat.

all that is true....and DEZ has to have his tailgate down for his motos as well even with another measly 1 foot of bed room...unless he wants to puss out and put the bike angled...hell I can mount mine straight up or against my cab too! IBTO IBTO IBTO keep repeating it to myself

Where you got that info....Reason I have been dealing with this guy named Justin on TundraHQ as he's an avid fan of Ford and can't wait to throw his 2 cents to put down a Tundra. His famous saying is the drivetrain doesn't make the truck. Well I keep reminding him you need a drivetrain to make it home or we will be using your name (FORD).

The CM costs more - generally that means fewer will buy it. Pretty friggin obvious that you wouldn't be able to charge more for something that is less desireable though...

People might vote DC - but a lot of them just aren't willing to spend the money on the better model and so make out like the DC is better.

I bought a DC for two reasons;

1) It has plenty of room for my wife my two children and myself. We have taken two medium length trips in it and everyone was comfortable.

2) I think it is a better looking truck.

Price had nothing to do with my choice.
