You have to concoct a pretty convoluted example to show that the 1" is all that useful... whereas the additional size and comfort of the CM backseat is hugely beneficial.

To those that say why not buy a Sequioa... I wtill have the need to haul things that would be hard to haul in a SUV - ever try to haul landscaping plants or a chair? Not to mention the fact that the Sequioa is EXPENSIVE.
Smed, most guys using their truck for any kinda work will tell you that an important tool to have fit in the bed is a six foot ladder and without at least 6' of bed space it ain't gonna fit verry well so trust us workers that use the bed 1 ft makes all the difference in the world.

You're right - my truck can't carry your 6 foot ladder... but your truck can't carry my 7 foot ladder either. ;-)

Hey wait - my truck can carry a 7 foot ladder.... I'm confused.

Who uses a 7ft ladder? I've been in construction for 25 tears and I'm sayin, and I'm sure I'm speaking for many, that I prefer to have my ladders laying down flat in side the bed with the tailgate closed. If you had a bed cover to secure your tools how would that work for ya? Open the tailgate with a bed extender? Neg!

Yeah - I would prefer to have it lay down all of the way in the bed too, but it's not a big problem for me. I'm sure if I used it everyday for work it would turn into a big problem.

Someone said it before, and I think they were right - if you are using your truck for work get a DC (or regular), if you are using the bed only occasionally, get a CM.

Although there is plenty of room in the back seats of a DC to cargo bodies and the CM is just 8 to 10" larger, both trucks have their functions. I believe your last statment kinda sums it up. A group of us agreed that in the 2 or 3 threads where we've been bashing each other apart were all in fun and I think we've all had our fun. I think I'm headed back to welcomes, info, mods, and advise. I'll take a few shots here and there but no new threads. Have a good one Smed!

all my toys have trailers. Plus the rear facing carseat was a tight squeeze on the DC. I love the rear window on the CM.

i love my crewmax. im just not a fan of the new version of the double cab (the looks) i like the looks of the cm better. and i filled my bed with 35 bags of topsoil and 25 bags of mulch, and 45 concrete borders when i redid the bed in the front yard. so the cm bed was perfect for me.

I do have to say that the CM bed is perfect for a landscaper! But it just doesn't work for real construction. Just saying!
