Best advise I've ever heard for this:

"Pretend that the driver is actually one of your best friends."

I've done this before, and if you imagine the offending driver is one of your best friends, instead of saying, "What a jackass" or "idiot", you will say, "Wow, Steve must have his head up his rear end today." Or, "Ken must have an emergency to be driving like that."
Helps me.

That's one way to put that. Different way to look at it.

Okay... I heard another one today, so I thought I would share.

Law of the Garbage Truck

The other day, I took a taxi to the airport. on the way, a car suddenly
pulled out in front of us. My driver slammed on his brakes and missed the
other car by just inches. although he was at fault, The driver of the other
car stuck his head out his window and angrily cursed us.

My driver just smiled and waved. So I asked, "Why were you friendly to
that jerk? He almost wrecked your car and sent us to the hospital!" This is
when my driver told me about, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."

He explained, "many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of
garbage. By that I mean they are full of frustration, anger, resentment,
and disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump
it. and sometimes they'll dump it on you. I try not to take it personally.
I Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage
and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

I'd rather just honk (Wake them up LOL!) and give them a Peace sign as I pass them by.

I sold my Del Sol before I moved back to Cali from Hawaii... so if anyone knows about being cut off its me! Prior to that I had an MX3. I was driving down the freeway in San Diego during the week. Me and another driver were getting into another lane at the same time. I drove past him and he was freaking out! So I gave him the finger... apparently this made him very angry! He followed me for about 30 miles. I finally got off the freeway thinking I'd just drive straight to the Police Station... When I got to the light on the off ramp he pulled up behind me took a GUN out and pointed it at me over his steering wheel. He then went around me and pulled up on my passenger side pointed the gun at me again and said "BANG"

Moral of the story... you truly don't know what people are going to do. Is it worth possibly your life because of someone else’s stupidity??? ...Not mine!!

I try to just take a breath and realize that they are lucky it's me they cute off or almost ran me off the road... otherwise they would be in big trouble... in the mean time I just shake my head and count to 10... Good luck and just let it go....

I love people that drive like morons, I find it comforting to pass them on the road while they're vehicle is sitting in the ditch.

I would love to believe that was words of wisdom until you see that bottle of Jack Daniels down there.

This place is crawling with radar/lazer. If some needledick wants to sweep it out for me...hooray!...I get to drive faster, too. Since I'm not willing to let some a$$wipe intrude on my muse, I employ a little mindgame: Rate the level of irritation (1-10), rate my reaction (1-10). If I'm having a level 9 snit over a level 3 pisser, I can just get-over my bad self. Save the rage for when it's really needed. Some call it Karma, I think it's more about high-risk behavior; either way, natural selection happens. Having a gun in the vehicle seems to reduce the percieved threat and willingness to engage (for me, anyway). Cell phones don't work where I live. That creates opportunities for play. I have sucessfully led tailgaters into debris, ice patches and other traps they're not ready for...Sometimes we can give karma a nudge...Use the boneheads for entertainment.
