Just how are vehicles stolen these days?

Well, I try to park my SilverSky DC away from the door dingers which means parking it off by itself and makes it a good target I guess.

But with the coded key, I don't understand how vehicles are started for stealing these days.

Is towing one major way vehicles are stolen?

Precautions to be taken? I have an old "Club" which I guess is fairly worthless.

thx

You just need a highly educated thief: How to Steal a Car with Coded Key

Or he could just steal your keys.

I had an 04 Chevy Duramax stolen a few yaers ago, right out of my driveway while i slept 10 feet away from it. the cops said they get the vin # from the dash which is visable from the outside of the truck prior to stealing it and usually have a friend (thief) that works at the dealer who can get them a key and poof your truck is gone....

I don't need to cover my vin #'s, you would need a ladder to read em.

Tex if you have a nerf step like mine you don't have to worry about door dings. Although you may have to worry about punch or kick marks from people dingin their doors on the nerf step and getting pissed.

Ever consider a mild lift? My rig is so high a semi truck door can't ding me. I'm almost eye to eye with some semi's. I know it's a bit excessive but I dig it!

You know...I may have to look into this lift thing...seems like everybody's doin' it..problems are I'm old school and I've only got 2K on my DC...never have altered a vehicle before...this DC sits up higher than the F150 I had and it's as high as the F250...seems the higher I get though, I want higher.

Call your dealer bro. Most dealers are contracting shops to install lifts. This way it doesn't affect the waranty one bit.

As long as humans are involved in our security, our security will be in jeopardy. Only fools think smoething is foolproof.

For every key that goes out the front door there are a dozen going out the back.

Cheers,

Bob
