Per Tim over at tundraheadquaters

I have bet him six packs every year that there wouldn't be changes. I won for the last few years lol, maybe I lose this time?

It's about time!! My '07 is getting old and tired.
I had basically decided that if nothing was released at Chicago I was going to get a new Chevy next summer.

The articles kind of confusing. It start out with speculation of what will be changed then makes it sound like other changes are already on the books. Hopefully they do make those changes.

Figures, I order a new truck, and they will likely change things.

Had originally planned on swapping late 2017 for a 2018, but just didn't work out that way.

I will let other people be the guinea pig on the "updates".

I don't think any of the changes mentioned are a surprise.
I'm still happy with my 2010 and hasn't given me any issues to date, though I'm somewhat wanting a new project....

Hopefully they increase payload among other items.

I'm still holding on to my 07. Figure I might as well wait til I'm close to retirement. Hopefully by 2020ish everything will be gravy! Really hoping for a diesel by then but not holding my breath.

Me too. My 07 has 167k on still looks and drives like brand new. Nothing on the newer models are worth trading up for.

Still working up to the 100k mark on my 08 Tundra, and my boss has a 2014, not impressed with it really no improvements actually a few things missing. My 08 Tundra Grade model actually has the dual climate controls, my boss's 2014 SR5 does not, his tail gate damper has already failed as well so if you let go of the tailgate on the way down it just falls, doesn't do the soft open any longer.

Nothing spectacular in the new trucks worth looking at. Have to wait for my 08 to wear out first LOL...guessing I've got another 10 years at least HAHA!!! By then cars will no longer exist anyhow.

I was figuring some mention of different engine options...apparently they're sticking to what works. Glad to see they are doing the same transmission across the Tundra and Sequoia, which I think the Land Cruiser has or will have the 8 speed as well. I liked the mention that adding gears doesn't mean better fuel economy...at least Toyota realizes this, but I just don't understand why they keep adding gears, its just something more to go wrong...so what now it will have 4 overdrive gears rather than 2 LOL.

I don't do much hauling or towing anymore so my next vehicle may not even need to be a truck. Maybe something like a Rav4 or Highlander in the future...possibly just keep the truck for the occasional hauling/towing needs and the Rav4 or Highlander as a DD.
