Rattle in Door compartment! - TundraTalk.net

Does anyone know how to stop that annoying rattle that comes from the little door compartment when the bass hits? I turned the bass down and it still rattles quite a bit. thanks

Do you have a stock stereo or upgraded?

My 5.0 mustang had bad rattles. Put Dynomat under the door and hatch panels and the rattles went away.

It's just the stock JBL one that comes with an AMP. The compartment i'm talking about is pretty small. It's located right beneath the window switches.

Same problem here and a few others to boot! I'm about ready to glue that sucker shut! I think I have an attitude problem lately. COME ON SPRING!!!

This reminds of a rattle problem on my Step-Father's S10 many yrs ago. Every winter (cold weather) a rattle appeared in the pass. door, but would go away during warmer weather. One year the window needed repair and they took off the door panel. They found two empty Budweiser beer cans in there, sticking to the gooey rustproofing. In the winter when it hardened the cans would break loose and rattle around. He bought it new....had to be put in there on the assembly line.

Back when I was one of those tech people for Chevy we used what was called "Dum-Dum" which was 3M strip calk. This would deadened the sound of the metal rods in the door that would vibrate with the sound of music.
