Smoked a Diesel!
Driving behind a car doing the speed limit and a new Chevy PU with huge tires went flying past in the other lane belching black smoke. I pulled up next to him at the stoplight & noticed him powerbreaking so it was on! I hit it hard off the line & had good traction just barely squealing the tires (trac.button off) thru the intersection & pulled a good truck length on him up to about 50 and let up as he wizzed by me. Next light he didn't even look over as I was giving the thumbs up. Did the same thing again after a rolling start & punched it. His huge tires must have really killed his torque to his wheels. I think he had about an 8" exhaust pipe so not completely stock. These Tundras are great thru 1st gear until that sloppy soft shift to 2nd. Tuner!

Do you get a firmer shift doing it manually? I just have the manual shift on the column.

Hey Mark, I drive an F250 turbo diesel, and I'm betting that it was the turbo-lag (time for the turbo to spool up and really kick the power in) that gave the diesel the slow start off the line.. Those turbo's have some awesome power (specially souped up) but the turbo lag really gives them a "slower" start off the line- compared to a gas engine.
